If you've always wanted to ride a horse at York Racecourse now is your chance - on the beautiful Carousel - and take a slide down the Lighthouse Helter-Skelter and land with a smile on your face. 
 
For the thrill-seekers, a Waltzer, Octopus and the most recently restored ride, a 1961 Twister will get the adrenaline pumping! 
 
Children will love riding the Toy Set, Swing Boats, Muffin the Mule and Hush Hush the Train - the oldest ride made in 1933 - plus there’ll be giggles galore with Magic Mirrors. 
 
The rides have been lovingly restored over the last few years by an outstanding team of local craftspeople, making a visit to the York Spring Fair a memorable experience. 
 
A magnificent 1911 Burrell's steam traction engine, appropriately named Yorkshireman, as well as an original Gavioli organ will complete the vintage fairground ambience.

Please be assured that the health and safety of our visitors, traders and staff will always be our number one priority. We will be adhering to all prevailing government guidelines regarding Covid-19. 
 
All rides will be operated with social distancing, and family groups will be seated together. We will carry out regular and thorough cleaning of funfair rides, game stall equipment and tokens. 
 
Visitors aged 11 and above must wear face coverings on funfair rides and will be required to sanitise their hands before and after each ride.
