Family Entertainment

Just JOSH

Four times every day, Josh Benson will be entertaining the kids on the Spring stage with two alternating shows.
Josh's JUGGLING act demonstrates his skill and humour to the max, while his MAGIC and BALLOONOLOGY (that's making balloon dogs 'n' stuff!) show has to be seen to be believed.
Josh has been a family and children’s entertainer for the last 7 years, having proudly entertained at hundreds of parties and events, on cruises and in visitor attractions.
A lot of Josh’s Family Entertainment takes place at York Maze, where he is the CORNtroller of Entertainments (real job title!) for their summer season.
His infamously high energy, physicality and natural rapport with children (of which he considers himself one!) has made him one of the most sought after Kids Entertainers in the UK.

Live Music

The Y Street Band are truly one of Yorkshire's finest.
These four friends have developed their own unique sound, successfully mixing their eclectic tastes in music, and developing their instantly recognisable approach to vocal harmony. Their winning combination of classic hits and contemporary popular music has been wowing audiences for over a decade; The Y Street Band provide an unforgettable musical experience not to be missed

Having sold out York Barbican Centre and sold out the Grand Opera House York a record 12 times, HUGE are the party band that can please all of the people all of the time, playing all the best tunes from Robbie Williams, Michael Buble, ABBA, Tom Jones, the Commitments, Barry White, Queen, Stevie Wonder and the Who, to 70s disco and Motown classics.
HUGE have also played with an array of acts such as Justin Timberlake, Sugababes, Alesha Dickson (Strictly Come Dancing winner), Atomic Kitten, The Cheeky Girls & Girls Aloud.
HUGE have also entertained many celebrity clients such as Alan Shearer, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Mark Durden-Smith, Tim Rice and stars of Coronation Street.

Join us for a Sea Shanty, punch-filled, nautical-themed, sailors party!
Old Time Sailors is a flashmob musical show designed to take the audience back in time on an unforgettable trip to the 19th century.
Every member of the audience receives a copy of the Sunday Sailor, their own newspaper shaped program which includes the lyrics to all their songs (plus personalized postal stamps!) in order to sing along and become a Sailor for one epic night!
The band is composed of 17 musicians playing fully unplugged to ensure the most authentic experience. Playing over 30 songs and tunes where the audience will sing and dance surrounded by 'drunken' sailors, in an astounding show unmatched in this music genre.

Hyde Family Jam are a traditional looking folk band who couldn't be less traditional. They play the songs they love from any decade, any genre, in any way they fancy. They play fast, loud and as entertainingly as possible. They call it "folk gone wrong"!
Since 2014 they’ve built a reputation as an outstanding live act for any occasion. They’ve played across the UK and abroad at weddings, festivals, award ceremonies, graduation balls, garden parties, street shows and all manner of live venues.
Between them they have over 50 years’ experience as musicians and performers. They are even award-winning, picking up "best busker" at the 2018 York Culture Awards.
They exist to give you the best show they possibly can.
Anywhere, anytime, every time.

The New York Brass Band are North Yorkshire’s only contemporary New Orleans inspired brass band. Hailing from the ancient streets of York the band has been rocking weddings, burning up festivals and smashing sports events since 2011. In 2015 NYBB played over 200 gigs.
The band is a powerful team of some of Yorkshire’s finest musicians packing an arsenal of percussion, sax, trumpets, trombones and sousaphone with a varied repertoire of over 60 tunes at their fingertips without a note of music in sight. This is a band that works without gimmicks, auto tune or backing tracks, they blur the line between band and audience by inviting the crowd to become part of the show and ending the performance in the audience, dancing on the tables or conga-ing under the stars.
Their repertoire is a broad range of styles from jazz to pop, reggae to funk and New Orleans to ska. They're a favourite at Glastonbury and wowed Yorktoberfest last year so come down and party!
